Events Director

The Events Director is one of the twelve members of the Board of Directors. Their mission is to provide spaces for data viz folks to foster connections, be inspired, and inspire others.
Duties according to Bylaws
- Determine and iterate on long-term vision for events within DVS
- Manage the planning of DVS conferences
- Gather feedback and reflect on past events, working to iterate for continued improvement
- Oversee the creation of new events
- Oversee the creation of new events branding outputs as necessary
- Ensure that diversity, inclusion, and accessibility is in the forefront of the planning of and decision-making around DVS events. All DVS events should be inclusive and accessible to everyone.
- Coordinate with Partnerships Director on event sponsorships
- Manage Events Committee
Tasks
- Oversee all events within DVS
- Determine and iterate on long-term vision for events within DVS
- Manage the planning of DVS conferences, learning from past conferences, and iterating for continued improvement
- Oversee the creation of new events branding outputs as necessary
- Coordinate with Partnerships Director on event sponsorships
- Manage the events manager, who helps with event logistics as-needed
