Slack is a messaging app for businesses and organizations. Conversations are structured into channels, each with a different focus. At DVS, we use Slack as a community hub where our members connect and discuss a variety of dataviz-related topics.
Accessing the DVS Slack Workspace
All DVS members can join the DVS Slack Workspace. If you did not receive an invite when you became a member, you can join here.
Access Slack via a web browser, or download the app on your devices for a better experience.
Browsing and Joining Channels
New members will automatically be added to the following channels:
- Announcements (for DVS-wide announcements),
- Introductions (for new members to introduce themselves)
- General (for general discussion)
To browse the 70+ public channels available to you, simply click the 'Channel Browser' link or the '+' that will appear when you hover over the Channels header while in the app. Click the Join button for channels that match your interests.

How do I create a poll?
